International conference 'INNO-SERVE 2014' organized by ITM University Gwalior

International conference on "Innovations in Services: Strategies for Global Business Excellence" organized by ITM University Gwalior Campus, Madhya Pradesh, India from, January 13- January 15, 2014. In conference renowned academicians, researchers from top B- Schools as well as global leaders from across the globe deliberated and discussed about innovation in service sector. The inaugural day of the international conference saw the assembly of many eminent, academicians, researchers and delegates from all over the world. The opening ceremony of international conference began with the lamp lightning by the guest of honour, Prof Naresh K. Malhotra from Nanyang Technological University and inaugural speech was delivered by Prof. Yogesh Upadhyay, Vice-Chancellor, ITM University Gwalior. Patron of the conference and Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Yogesh Upadhyay extended his warm wishes to all the delegates and explained the importance of Innovations in Service industry. While introducing all the participants to the theme of the conference i.e. innovation, Prof Upadhyay asserted that there is a 'dominant logic' that governs every person and organization and the dominant logic underlying behind ITM University is 'innovation' and students should be the beneficiaries of that innovation. The conference was inaugurated by chief guest Dr. Naresh K. Malhotra Nanyang Professor, Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and Regents' Professor Emeritus, College of Management, Georgia Institute of Technology, USA. The inauguration ceremony was followed by the keynote session addressed by Prof. Naresh Malhotra. In his keynote address, Prof Malhotra and he explained the post adoption phenomenon and customer usage of service innovation taking the case of student portal implemented in University of Winconsin. The second keynote address was given by Prof. Shailendra Singh IIM Lucknow who discussed the role of HR Practices in Business Performance. Post lunch session was addressed by Prof Raj S Dhankar, Dean FMS Delhi. Prof Dhankar shared his views on historical perspectives of modern finance and the impact of globalisation, the reason for the financial crisis of 2008 and the highlighted the importance of Islamic Finance in the current economic scenario for sustainable development. Citing references from various researchers, he encouraged students to go through researches for gaining an indepth understanding of related areas. All the keynote speakers motivated the particiapnts for pursuing research and suggested them possible areas of research in all functional areas of management.
